Novel Creature is a green and white tea blend with blueberry and mango, created for Author Montrez as part of our custom blend tea program.

Novel Creature is named after Author Montrez’ brand and publishing imprint.  Author Montrez writes science fiction and fantasy books that highlight underdogs, accidental heroes, and also very eloquently celebrates diverse characters.

The Novel Creature tea blend starts with a melding of sencha green tea, bai mu dan white tea, and gunpowder green tea.  We have then added blueberries, mango pieces, candied mango, rose buds, rose petals, marigold petals, blue cornflowers, mango flavoring, blueberry sugar (organic cane sugar, sugar-free blueberry flavor powder), and edible purple glitter.

When you open the bag you are instantly hit with a tantalizing mixture of blueberry and mango with subtle rose undertones. It just smells so yummy. When brewed, this blend has a beautiful lightness to it that is both enjoyable and refreshing. In fact, you can almost feel the inspiration flowing out of your cup. Did we mention, it glitters?

Since this is both a green tea and a white tea, we err on the side of caution and brew using green tea guidelines.  This means 3 minutes at 175F.  If you like your green tea a little toothier, you can certainly try a 4-minute brew time.  If you prefer to brew at white tea temperature which is a slightly hotter 195F, limit it to a 2-1/2 minute brew and definitely not over 3 minutes. When brewed, this Blueberry Mango Tea blend has a beautiful lightness to it that is both enjoyable and refreshing. In fact, you can almost feel the inspiration flowing out of your cup
