I’m Your Huckleberry is inspired by the movie Tombstone and Doc Holliday. While the phrase “I’m Your Huckleberry” was coined in this movie to basically represent the fact that Doc is the ‘one for the job’ or “the one you’re looking for’. So, next time you don’t know how to help, offer to share a cup of I’m Your Huckleberry!
We started with a black tea base and added raspberries, blueberries, cherries, cranberries, strawberries, black currants, natural and artificial huckleberry flavors, hibiscus, raspberry leaf, and rose hips. We also added a bit of blueberry sugar to round out the flavor profile.
Huckleberries are hard to fine as they typically grow at higher elevations in the wilderness (the Rockies, the Pacific Northwest). They are not readily available commercially and are relatively expensive. Huckleberries look similar to a blueberry, but taste more like a cross between a blueberry and a raspberry. Some varieties of huckleberries are sweet, but some can be more bitter. While I’m Your Huckleberry does not contain actual huckleberries, we feel that the deliciously wild and unique taste of the huckleberry comes right through!
