This Tea Blend is Music to Your Taste Buds!
While many of us are familiar with the reference to Christine’s childhood nickname ‘Little Lotte’ in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical version of Phantom of the Opera, the original reference in the novel by Gaston Leroux was a story told by Christine’s father, and how lucky she thought Little Lotte must have been to hear the Angel. This shortbread tea will make you feel like you’ve become an angel yourself.
“Little Lotte thought of everything and nothing. Her hair was as golden as the sun’s rays, and her soul as clear and blue as her eyes. She wheedled her mother, was kind to her doll, took great care of her frock and her red shoes and her fiddle, but loved most of all, when she went to sleep, to hear the Angel of Music.”―
Our Little Lotte blend starts with a black tea and then it is blended with apple, pomegranate, ginger, orange, pears, almonds, cardamom, cloves, honey, cinnamon, and our own butternut sugar (made with organic cane sugar and naturally flavored sugar-free butternut powder). The result reminds us of a nice crumbly bite of shortbread cookie. Not too sweet, but with a slight buttery undertone. For those of you that shy away from some of these spicier flavors, don’t worry, it is very subtle and only adds to the overall flavor, and definitely doesn’t overpower anything. Don’t resist, you will only wish you’d tried it sooner. You really must try taking a shortbread cookie and dunking it in a cuppa Little Lotte for the ultimate flavor sensation!
For a dose of cute to go along with your tea, check out our Turtle Ambassador, Jessica’s, newly adopted rescue dog named Lotte. Look at her, doesn’t she just make you want to curl her up, grab a cup of this tea blend, and re-read The Phantom of the Opera? We’re on our way now!

What can I say? Andrea always makes wonderful combinations. This is a lovely “snack” tea. Sitting down with a nice cup there’s no need for a cookie to dunk. Nice and smooth. Let’s sit down and contemplate life.

I was genuinely surprised how much this tea tastes like shortbread. This is a great tea to just sit and relax with. Highly recommended.
