Nook’s Island Punch

Invite Us To Your Island. We’ll Bring the Tea!

This tea blend is inspired by Tom Nook and his nephews Timmy and Tommy, from Animal Crossing. It occurred to us one day while scouring the coastline of our island for sharks, that all of our island residents needed a special drink to enjoy whether they were out fishing, catching bugs, digging for fossils, or watching fireworks. So, we created Nook’s Island Punch, which is our take on an island mojito (add your own alcohol).

This mojito tea blends together black tea, green tea, rooibos, and honeybush. Then we add spearmint leaf infused sugar, a little lemon peel, lemongrass, and some coconut (because it wouldn’t be an island drink without coconut). Everyone will be booking a ticket to your island when they find out about this savory concoction, complete with those colorful little tea umbrellas!

Normally, we would recommend steeping a rooibos or honeybush for at least 7-10 minutes. However, because this blend also contains black tea that can turn quite bitter if over-steeped, we recommend that you limit steeping to 4-5 minutes, and then adjust to your taste preferences from there. If you feel you aren’t getting quite enough flavor from the rooibos/honeybush due to the shorter steeping time, you can try increasing the amount of tea you are using (so instead of 1 teaspoon per 6 ounces of water, try 1-1/2 teaspoons or 2 teaspoons).
