A Supernatural Inspired Black Tea Blend
This cherry tea blended with black tea is inspired by Dean Winchester and the Supernatural TV series.
Dean is more anxious about his next pie fix sometimes than he is about the demons he is hunting. Who can blame him though, as I was just thinking that a nice piece of pie with a flaky, buttery crust sounds just about perfect, wouldn’t you agree? In fact, pie is mentioned in nearly every season of Supernatural, which makes you wonder if Dean really does want that ‘apple-pie life’ more than he lets on.
When trying to create a tea blend to taste like pie, I knew it had to be good enough to withstand Dean’s intense pie obsession. I tried to imagine if Dean had a favorite pie, but I’m pretty sure that in his eyes, all pies are created equal! So, I figured, let’s shoot for a flavor profile that screamed cherry without being obvious. How do you pull that off you’re wondering? Build a blend that tastes like cherry pie without actually having any cherries in it. Whoa, that’s cool, because I myself love the taste of cherries but don’t like the mouth feel of cherries themselves. I set myself up with quite the challenge, but I think I nailed it (in a good way).
This cherry tea blend combines the sweet tartness of elderberries and raspberry with the sour bitterness of cranberries, the mild sweetness of marshmallow leaf, the sweet spiciness of cinnamon, and the fruity tartness of hibiscus and passion fruit. Mix that all together and Voila! No cherry, cherry pie!
Fighting evil makes for a very hangry hunter. Don’t worry Dean, this blend will have you saying “mmmmmm…..more pie!” I suppose there are far worse things to be obsessed about than pie, so let’s let him have all the pie he wants, no judgement.

I was initially hesitant to try this one because I’m not a huge fan of cherry flavored things (they always seem to end up on the cough syrup spectrum) but my love of Supernatural won out and I gave this a try and I was very pleasantly surprised. The cherry flavor is there but it is well balanced with the other flavors so it doesn’t punch you in the tongue. Overall, I like it and will most likely order it again.

A nice warm morning tea. Smooth with the taste of berries and cinnamon.
3rd purchase of this blend. (Twice at Comic-con with the lovely owner) Definitely pleasant enough to sit and sip and embark on an adventure in a well loved book or pour it in a nice travel mug, jump into an Impala and hunt some demons.

I’m not sure about “cherry”…after all, they are nowhere on the ingredient list…but it definitely tastes like a fruity pie. Maybe a triple berry. Whatever it is, it’s really good and retains a strong scent and flavor even after being steeped twice.

I loved this tea. As soon as I opened the tea, I could smell cherry pie. It tasted just as great as it smelled.

Smells like berries and cinnamon pie! Taste is not as strong as the smell, but still a lovely cup with some sugar

Smells really nice, and tastes even better! The cherry isn’t overpowering and this blend truly does remind me of a berry pie.

This is the one tea I have to hide due to everyone in the household loves it!
