Our Alma College tea blend is inspired by 'The Scots' of Alma College. This liberal arts college located in Alma, Michigan, was founded in 1886 and has embraced its strong Scottish heritage throughout the years, and we have embraced it as well in our Loyal Hearts blend.
We don’t just embrace our Scottish heritage — we live it every day, out loud and in plaid.
Loyal Hearts begins with a Scottish Breakfast blend of black teas, which include Assam, Keemun, Yunnan, and Ceylon varieties. Added to this amazing base of black teas are apple, pine nuts, lemongrass, eucalyptus, mistletoe, arena berries, freeze dried currants, spruce needle oil, blueberry leaves, blackberry leaves, sweet blackberry leaves, sugar crystals and heart shaped sugar sprinkles.
Paying homage not only to Alma's strong Scottish influence, but also to the trees that root its campus and grace its logo, this blend combines ingredients that speak to both. Finished off with a name that is also the first words of their Alma Mater - "Loyal hearts will cherish ever......"
Loyal Hearts is part of the custom blend program here at Happy Turtle Tea. When we were contacted by an Alma Alum about creating a custom blend, I could not wait to create a blend that encompassed everything 'Alma', Both my son and my daughter graduated from Alma College, so it has a fond place in my heart.-Andrea
