'A Descent into the Maelstrom' is a horrifying tale of fear and terror and the ultimate conflict of man vs. nature, written by Poe in 1841. This was just one of many short stories penned by Poe in his short lifetime, along with some truly prolific poems. He was best known for his short stories and poems that dropped his readers into the dark and macabre.
Now, close your eyes and imagine Eddy sitting at his writing desk late at night, a beating rain is hitting the window and the thunder sounds like explosives. He sits in a dark room with a single candle burning, wearing a smoking jacket and languidly smoking his pipe. He reaches for his inkwell to begin a new story of a life gone horribly wrong only to realize his inkwell is dry. What is a writer with a dark and macabre story buzzing around in his head to do now?
