This digital tea timer will help to ensure that you do not over or under steep your tea. Not only is water temperature important, but the amount of time that your tea steeps is critical. We recommend pairing this with one of our unique tea infusers for the perfect tea-making kit.

Features of our digital timer include:

  • Small size - approximately 2 inches by 2.5 inches
  • Use the clip or magnet on the back for easy placement
  • Set the timer for up to 99 minutes and 59 seconds
  • Timer is not overtly loud, and makes a pleasant "DD" sound
  • Uses 1 LR44 Button Battery, Included

How Long Should You Brew Your Tea?

Below are general guidelines, but always refer to your tea package label as some teas may require minor adjustments to the below. You can always read up on our Brewing 101 page if you're new to loose leaf tea.

Black tea is best when steeped for 4 minutes at 208F.​

Green tea should normally steep for 3 minutes at 175F, although some more delicate green teas may require 165F and 2 minutes.

Rooibos, Fruit Infusions, and Herbal Blends are best when steeped for 5 minutes at 208F.

White teas are best when steeped for 3 minutes at 175F.

Oolong teas are best when steeped for 4 minutes at 195F.

Can I just say that I'm so glad this little thing beeps loud enough for me to notice it and NOT over brew my tea anymore! Sometimes you just need something to remind you to PAY ATTENTION!!

This is a wonderful tea timer, simple to use and, above all, portable! I put off buying it because I thought I could just use my watch or the stove/microwave timer, but my watch didn't have an option for 4 minutes (only 1,3, or 5) and the stove/microwave was way too loud and far away from where I usually drink my tea(yes, I'm a multi-tasking Mom!). I'm so glad I finally treated myself to a timer just for my tea:)
