A Star Wars Inspired Black Tea Blend

This black fig tea blend is inspired by Chewie from Star Wars, and our rescue dachshund Raven.

Chewbacca is a 200 year old Wookie and the best darn co-pilot that ever flew the Millennium Falcon. What you might not know is that this iconic 7 foot hero was inspired by George Lucas’s dog, a hairy Alaskan malamute that loved car rides. Can’t you just picture Chewie sitting in the passenger seat of a bright green Kia Soul, with his head hanging out the window.

Raven is our 3 year old rescue miniature dachshund. She is almost pure black with the biggest paws you’ve ever seen. In fact, we have determined that her Native American name is ‘Little Big Paws’! Raven talks to us when we have missed her nightly 8pm treat time (how she knows how to tell time is a mystery). The funny thing about this is that she talks “Wookie”. You heard me, she talks at the top of her lungs and sounds like Chewbacca in all his glory. It is the absolute funniest, cutest, and most endearing thing I have ever heard. So, in honor of Chewie being a Wookie and as an ode to Raven the Wookie dachshund’s treat time, I created this quintessential black tea blend with lavender and figs, and calendula the color of Chewie’s golden locks.

Figs are a great source of minerals, vitamins A and K, fiber and natural sugars. With the berry goodness brought by the currants and the slight floral essence of lavender, Chewie insists that this luscious fig tea blend is good with porgs. Chewie, seriously, how many times do we have to tell you, porgs are friends not food! Add a spot of milk and you will swear you are eating a fig cookie!
