Get This Marvel Inspired Black Tea Blend Before It Turns to Dust

This black tea for headaches is inspired by that painfully purple villain Thanos. This is primarily because watching him create his own world balance gave me a headache. No really, this blend was created because I suffer from migraine headaches as do my kids. After having open heart surgery, I can no longer take prescription medications when I get a migraine, so I had to come up with an alternative. I spent a lot of time researching herbs and their relationship to headaches, especially migraines. I created this tea blending black tea with an essence of lilac to provide caffeine (known to help with headaches) and other traditional herbs known to treat migraines and headaches, the most important are discussed below.

Feverfew is a member of the daisy family that has traditionally been used to treat migraine headaches, fevers, arthritis, along with several other ailments. Feverfew contains a compound called parthenolide, which in the case of migraines, is thought to prevent the constriction of blood vessels in the brain. While many people take feverfew regularly as a preventative, so to lessen migraine attacks, it is best to drink this black tea on a daily basis.

Vervain has traditionally been used to treat headaches, anxiety, and insomnia. It soothes and sedates the nervous system. Native American tribes used it for insomnia and headaches, and the Aztecs used it as a diuretic.

White Willow Bark is a lot like aspirin, which is why it has traditionally been used to treat headaches. In 1828 a German chemist isolated the active ingredient in white willow bark and named it salicin, later modified in 1899 to what we know now as aspirin.

Linden flowers are used in herbal teas in France and are very popular. Some even refer to linden flower tea as ‘tea of happiness’. Linden relaxes and calms the nervous system, which also lowers blood pressure. It is especially effective for tension that accompanies headaches.

Chamomile is added to assist with relaxation, blue mallow is added as an additional herb to provide relief from headache pain, and sweet violet flowers are added as an additional anti-inflammatory. There is nothing for frightening and unsettling than a headache that feels like there is an icepick in your brain, or one that lasts for 3-5 days (or longer). Trust me, I know.

Perfectly balanced, as all things should be'
—Thanos, Marvel Infinity War

The stevia leaf and sugar crystals are added just so all of these medicinal herbs taste better!

We hope that this will be your go-to tea for headaches. But be cautious the first few times you drink this as some of the ingredients could cause drowsiness in some individuals. Do not give it to children, and if you are pregnant, nursing, or taking blood thinners consult a physician before consuming this tea. If you are allergic to aspirin consult a physician before drinking.
