Got Milk?

Are you a nursing mother? Nursing can be stressful, so we created a lactation tea that is blended to support breast milk production, is caffeine-free and it tastes good! While on Ach-To it appears to be quite the island tour if you are lucky enough to see the lactating Bantha (or so Luke says). But we guarantee our lactation tea is much easier to obtain and prepare.

We started with a Rooibos to give you a needed boost. Rooibos contains a number of minerals that are vital to a new mom's health including iron, magnesium, zinc, calcium, and vitamin C. Rooibos also contains antioxidants that are rich in anti-inflammatory properties which can come in handy for new moms.

We then added ingredients that have been used for hundreds of years to promote milk production as well as shown to help relieve digestive issues such as gas that passes on to baby, and are known to boost your own natural defenses during nursing.

• Goat's Rue - part of the pea family known to increase healthy milk production;
• Blessed Thistle - known to stimulate flow, help with digestion and loss of appetite;
• Fenugreek - shown to increase milk production, help with digestion and inflammation;
• Fennel - shown to help increase milk production, reduce inflammation, and is rich in antioxidants;
• Lemon Verbena - supports immunity and helps with indigestion;
• Nettle Leaf - supports the nutrition of nursing mothers, assists the bodies own anti-inflammatory responses, and as a bonus is shown to support respiratory health;
• Chamomile - used for centuries to promote relaxation, which for nursing mothers is a must. Also assists with inflammation and digestion;
• Elderberries - supports immune stimulation, as getting a cold while nursing is no fun at all;
• Raspberry Leaf - shown to support milk production;
• Rose Hips - contains a high concentration of vitamin C which is crucial to healthy lactation

In addition to the fine list of supporting ingredients above, we have also added a touch of spearmint, freeze-dried raspberries, freeze-dried rhubarb, and coconut for flavor and rose petals because all moms deserve roses!

The blue-green color comes from a mixture of butterfly pea flowers and powder. Add a bit of lemon and watch your tea turn a beautiful purple.

If you experience nausea or heartburn while drinking this lactation tea, it is most likely the fenugreek. In this case, we recommend that you use fewer tea leaves or more water in an effort to counteract the symptoms.

It can take 24-72 hours for you to notice the effects. We also recommend drinking 1-3 cups per day.

Important Notes: Always consult your healthcare professional before consuming herbs that you are unfamiliar with. Herbs can interact with other medications you may be taking and result in unintended side effects. It is not recommended to drink this tea blend if you are pregnant.
