Whistledown Spills the Tea About Our Rose Earl Grey!
Now, this is something to write about, a rose and cream early grey blend that has everyone talking! Inspired by Bridgerton, our Whistledown Spills the Tea blend will have the gossip mongers hanging on every word she writes in her society papers!
As with all Earl Grey blends, the bergamot has to be the star. This blend uses a black tea blend with bergamot flavoring. We then blend in rose hips, rose petals, cornflowers, and a double dose of blackberry leaves to add creaminess. Now, this blend would not be worthy of Lady Whistledown if we didn't take it up a notch, so that's exactly what we did by adding some glitzy edible beverage glitter and yellow sugar pearls (naturally colored). Penelope does look stunning in yellow, and this Rose Earl Grey tea is 'the bomb'!
Earl Grey tea may not be your cuppa. Some find the bergamot flavor overpowering and/or bitter. One of the ways to tone this down is to add a bit of milk along with a dash of sugar or honey. Or, try it the British way and add lemon and sugar to your cup. This blend is hearty enough to support both options and it will be one tasty cup regardless of how you choose to enhance it. You should also try experimenting with steeping times. We recommend 4 minutes, but if you aren't the biggest fan of bergamot then try 3 minutes. However, if you are a purist eave it for a full 5 minutes to get the full, deep citrus flavor that bergamot has to offer.
