Warm Up With Our Holiday Chai Tea!
This holiday season we just can’t get enough of Schitt’s Creek so we created a pear chai tea blend inspired by Moira Rose herself. With this cup of tea, Moira might not even need her Christmas Pills! Even David is considering us for a spot at Rose Apothecary!
“All I can think about is the 22-foot Norwegian Pine we once had. And the protesters shouting at the flatbed truck as it made its way through our front gates. Now that was festive.” – Moira Rose, Schitt’s Creek, Season 4, “Merry Christmas, Johnny Rose”
Much like the Rose Family, this blend combines teas with different personalities. The primary base is Sencha green tea, a Japanese green tea that grows in the sunlight and then is steamed immediately after harvesting to stop the oxidation process. It is known for its grassy/vegetal flavor. Next, a Darjeeling tea is added. Darjeeling hails from India and is known as the ‘champagne of teas’ due to its distinctive aroma and muscatel-like flavor. The last tea in this blend is black tea, added to round everything out. When blended with pears, apples, and some of our favorite holiday chai spices, it creates a cup worthy of the holidays.
The chai spices (cinnamon, cloves, cardamom) along with ginger, fennel, and anise, give our blend just a hint of spiciness without being overpowering. We have added vanilla to mellow the spices and bring out the fruit, and little sugar gingerbread men sprinkles for a festive addition.
So, as an ode to Moira Rose, we are headed to make a pot of Bébé, It’s Cold Outside, and binge-watch Schitt’s Creek all over again!

Enjoy holiday cheer year round! Yummy, fruity, warm. I’ve never had a tea that blended green, black and darjeeling and it is actually really good.
