We can all picture the scene in Pride and Prejudice where Mr. Darcy tells Elizabeth Bennet that he loves her, most ardently. Oh, what a lovely scene it is, a profession of love so beautiful and honest, and then it all goes badly. This calls for cake!
Tea that tastes like cake that is! Most Ardently is a Rooibos and Honeybush tea blend that will have you thinking you just sat down with a delightful slice of red velvet cake straight from the oven. This blend has Red Rooibos, Green Rooibos, and Honeybush, chocolate pieces, white chocolate chips, dark cocoa infused sugar, some beet powder for a beautiful cup and sprinkles just because they are fun!
Why mix Rooibos and Honeybush, you might ask? While both are grown in South Africa and are naturally caffeine-free, it wasn't until recently that its popularity started growing. Rooibos is slightly bolder with a subtle nuttiness and natural hint of caramel. It accepts other flavors quite easily which makes it an excellent blending choice. Green Rooibos is the more delicate of the two as it is not oxidized and has a more herbal profile. Many people find the flavor of Rooibos to be a bit medicinal, sort of like cough syrup, which is why we love to blend it with ingredients like chocolate! Honeybush has a sweeter flavor and a distinct honey-like aroma. When you blend all of these together you really get the best that this plant native to South Africa has to offer.
Although our Most Ardently blend is missing the cream cheese frosting usually associated with red velvet cake, don't be ashamed to try a small splash of cream to give this blend that special something extra!
